Stanley Kwan directs this Cantonese-language biopic starring Maggie Cheung as Chinese actress Lingyu Ruan. During the 1930s, Lingyu Ruan shot to fame on the silver screen when she was just 16. With a career that thrust her into the limelight from a young age, Ruan struggled with the media attention, culminating in her untimely death at the age of just 24.
