During her family's annual summer vacation in the Catskills NY, teenager Baby (Jennifer Grey) meets dance instructor Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), who sweeps her off her feet. Baby becomes Johnny's dance partner, despite her parents' disapproval, and now she must decide whether to obey them - or her own heart.
